Our Impact

Eight houses. Six countries.
Forty thousand nights of rest.

Numbers do not tell the whole story — but they begin to outline its shape. Behind each statistic: a parent who slept beside their child, a husband who reached his wife in time, a treatment that was not abandoned because the road was too long.

In thirty years of pediatric oncology, I have not seen a clinical intervention change a family's outcome the way a free room next door has. We watch parents stay calm. We watch siblings keep going to school. We watch treatment finish.

Voices

Three stories from this year.

A child and parent
Léa, 6 · Pediatric Oncology · Lyon

"Maman slept here every night."

Léa's protocol required twenty-four cycles of treatment over six months at the Hôpital Femme-Mère-Enfant — 480 kilometres from her village in the Cantal. Her parents and brother stayed in our Lyon house through every cycle. Today, Léa is in remission. Her family kept their home, their jobs, and their nights together.

A grandfather
Anwar, 68 · Cardiac Care · Milan

"I no longer dread Mondays."

For two years, Anwar drove 200 kilometres on Sunday evenings, slept in his car in the hospital car park, attended dialysis at dawn on Monday, and drove home that night. After his cardiologist referred him to Casa San Raffaele, he finally has a private room, a hot meal, and the dignity of arriving rested.

A long table
The Catalan Kitchen · Barcelona

"The kitchen we did not know we needed."

Three families at Casa del Mar — Catalan, Basque, and Senegalese — found themselves cooking dinner together every evening through their loved ones' transplant recoveries. Their WhatsApp group, "La Cocina," is now five years old. They visit each other's cities for birthdays.

Help us open the ninth house.

Vienna is next. The hospital has invited us. The property is identified. We need our community to make it possible.
